One of the bunkers hidden in the undergrowth.
With a nice escape shaft, note the intact gas seal.
Two of this type were constructed here to mount 2cm Flak. One of this type was demolished after falling into the quarry shortly post-war. These bunkers contain a crew room and ammunition store, each with an entrance defence plate guarding one of the bunkers two entrances.
A well-preserved gas door.
Nice shutters.
Lots of ventilation.
Three of this large type were built here. This bunker was designed to mount an 8.8cm Flak gun, the heaviest anti-aircraft gun type used on Alderney. These bunkers survive very well, with unique patterns and frescos in the crew rooms.
