Wn. Sud

Resistance Nest South

Wn. Sud is situated near the southernmost point of the island ,hence the name. This Wn. was east of Lager Sylt. On the German produced 'Festung Guernsey' map the site is marked as 'Flugplatz' instead, meaning airport. The area was defended primarily by a 5cm Pak 38 in a shelter. The secondary defences of the site were primarily 5cm and 8cm mortars respectively. Apart from the Pak 38 shelter, huts and some of the trenches most of the positions can be traced.
