Strassburg was a battery established at Jerbourg. It was one of three Navy Batteries on Guernsey and sister battery to HKB Generaloberst Dollmann. The site was armed with four 22cm K532(f) weapons emplaced in open field positions. The site presumably featured 2cm flak as air defence, but was the only naval battery for this not to be on Fortress bunkers. The site survives well, with the Leitstand being clearly discernable at Jerbourg Viewpoint. The bunker was blown up for scrap in the 1950s, with the holes being plugged, and it is used for storage by the hotel. Most of the bunkers lie on private property, but a few can be inspected. The best surviving emplacement is located at Jerbourg Hotel and can be accessed with permission. The site was going to be converted to house the 15cm SK C28 guns, of which four batteries were planned for Guernsey. The only structure build here to that standard was the M132 Leitstand.
The entrance-defence shutter of a bizarre RFO Personnel Shelter. The red text is unusual for a bunker here. Note the niche for a lantern on the left.
A ventilation pipe inside the same bunker.
One of two 7.5cm Gun Emplacements, the shelter is visible next to it.ย
It is found nearby to a Leitstand. This bunker had two steel cupolas used for rangefinding equipment, these were removed in 1950 by explosives. This badly damaged the bunker, which was patched up and used for storage.ย
One of four K532(f) 22cm Gun Emplacments. This particular emplacment is the most intact and accessable of the surviving three , being found in a field near Jerbourg Hotel.
Entrance to a twin roomed reserve ammunition 134. They are internally similar to the ones found at Battery Dollmann apart from these have a roof and walls of only one metre making them reinforced field order.
