Such a substantial battery as Mirus, with its four 30.5cm Russian guns, required an impressive administration and rangefinding section to function adequately. Interestingly, the Leitstand constructed here is actually smaller than the type built elsewhere on the island for the 15cm guns. This is probably because, rather than having accommodation within the same bunker, it was chosen to construct a separate large accommodation bunker connected by a passage under the road to the Leitstand. The stereoscopic rangefinder here was impressive, the arms being some 10m wide. A large room inside the bunker was then equipped to process the data from the rangefinder. Nearby to the accommodation bunker was built a modified Fl242 for Freya Radar.
Unfortunately, the house that was constructed on the site post-war, removed most fittings, and integrated the bunker into the house recently. The passage under the road is inaccessible. The large accommodation bunker opposite is well preserved and used for storage, while the radar emplacement is derelict.
