Cambridge Park Resistance Nest

Overview

This resistance nest was recorded as a mortar throwing battery, similar to that of Konigsmühlen at Grantez Mill. It comprised of a collection of Vf mortar positions, now in the grounds of Carey Castle and are inaccessible. Their current state is unknown.

Purpose

Provide cover fire for the stretch between Soldiers Bay and Belle Grève Bay and focus fire on the entrances to harbours and possible landing areas.
