Overview
Peilmühle is located nearby to Vale Mill and was one of a small group of northern inland resistance nests. The site was fairly heavily armed, but all known works were to field order and there are no remains.
Purpose
Repel enemy forces attacking from Port de Normoint and Bordeaux Harbour and prevent the landing of paratroopers within 300 metres southwards of the site. Worked in conjunction with nearby resistance nests and strongpoints.
