Pleinmont Bar Resistance Nest

Overview

Westberg-Riegel was located along Rue Des Pointes and Route De Pleinmont. It was positioned to defend the stretch from the Imperial Hotel resistance nest towards the interior of the island. It was heavily armed. Today the only visible relic is a large Vf personnel shelter of an unknown type in-between two driveways.

Purpose

Detection of landing of airborne troops using constant surveillance. Seal off upper Pleinmont (Westberg) on the landward side. Blockade hollows and roads that could lead towards the interior of the island. Support neighboring positions and fight until last man.
