Overview
Wn. Krossen was completed at Fort Le Crocq on the south end of Vazon. It was a heavily defended area, with the main armament being a 10.5cm K331(f) emplaced within a Jägerstand type bunker. This was furthered by machine guns, flamethrowers and rifles. An interesting structure was completed inland at the site, this being the amalgamation of a Channel Islands personnel bunker (Wa. Prüf. 514), with an armored turret (likely type 20P7). This was probably installed on one of the open observers positions. The site is spread across what is now private property and post-war development, and while most survives, it is inaccessible.
Purpose
Detect landing attempts at Vazon Bay by use of surveillance of sea and airspace. Defense of Vazon Bay against landing forces by cooperating with other positions in the area, and to fight to last man. (Frontline of resistance nest is high tide mark).
