Ho.12 located as Sous L'Eglise in St Saviour is well known on the island, featuring in books such as The Tunnel Under The Church'. When work ceased in 1944 10,694 cubic metres of rock had been removed and half of the tunnel was lined. Completed sections were used to store ammunition. Unfortunately, despite rumours, the tunnel does not link to a coastal cave. It was used to seal unwanted equipment. Partially cleared between 1980 and 1985. It was opened as a museum between 1985-2002. It is now securely locked and access is forbidden.
The ticket booth still stands on the left.
Perhaps one day it will reopen.
