Ho.4 - Diesel Fuel Store

Ho.4 is located at La Valette, St Peter Port. This tunnel was used a fuel storage. It has two entrances running into the cliff face. These are connected by a tunnel, from which 4 large chambers extrude outwards. These chambers housed the fuel storage tanks. Post-war three of the tanks were removed but the 4th was kept due to its position and rockfalls. According to the 1944 report, 3721 cubic metres of rock was extracted at this site. In 1987 it was opened and renovated. It opened in 1988 as La Valette Underground Military Museum.
