The Dezimetergerät operated on a frequency of 500-2000 Mhz, and converted telephone audio waves into light which was transmitted using an optical device similar to a Lichtsprechgerät. Two Dezimetergerät-Stand bunkers were constructed, one here at Fort George and one in Alderney at Quatre Vents. They had a clear line of sight of each other allowing for the uninterrupted transmission of signals from Alderney to Guernsey, as the seabed was too rocky for a submarine cable. The bunker design is a proper 600 series, with walls of two meters, but it has no known Regeltyp number. 

The example at Fort George lies in the grounds of a private house nowadays, but is well preserved. It formed part of the radar station 'Stp. Anderschloss' at the fort. In Alderney, the example at Quatre Vents formed part of the flak battery 'Stp. Millionär', and is the only substantial position left on the site. It was restored in 2002 as a wildlife and history interpretation center, and is freely accessible.
