M19 Automatic Mortar

The M19 Automatic Mortar is a large weapon type. It is a vertically firing mortar typically housed in a steel cupola. Some 5 of these were emplaced on Guernsey in Regelbau 633 constructions, but all have been scrapped. One at Stp. Rotenstein has been restored. The M19 could fire 5cm mortars at a rate of 60-120 rounds per minute, up to 750m. This made it well suited to local defence of headlands and strongpoints.
