Overview
Modellhafen is located near the yacht club at Castle Pier. Its principal armament was two 7.5cm mobile field artillery guns, housed inside Vf casemates, which still survive. A large L409 was built for air defence, with an offset emplacement. Nearby, a small single-roomed L413 was constructed to house ammunition. Both survive, with the L409 being a dive store. The resistance nest also featured a strange Sk bunker, housing several fuel tanks.Β
Purpose
Prevent vessels from entering the harbour entrance and to resist troops approaching from the landward side. Defence must be focused on harbour entrance.
