Ho.8 is found adjacent to Ho.4 at La Valette, St Peter Port. The original tunnel was excavated in the 19th century to provide access to Fermain Bay but never completed due to the hardness of the rock. It was completed by the Germans with the notable addition of 3 large chambers used for storage. An unusual RFO 10.5cm K331(f) Casemate was constructed near the Southern entrance, overlooking Soliders Bay. Completed early 1945 and used until the liberation. 1,838 cubic metres of rock was excavated. It was filled with unwanted equipment after the war and sealed. Cleared in the mid 1960s when the tunnel was converted into an aquarium, The Aquarium closed in 2019. In October 2024 the tunnel began conversion into storage and a research lab.
