La Varde Tunnel
La Varde Tunnel
The La Varde Tunnel is a small Personnel Shelter and attached Tunnel at Wn. Unter Westberg. The Tunnel connects to a searchlight emplacement above. It is open and possible to visit, although you must take care as it may be dangerous or flooded. Take care on steps as they are slippery and warped.
Integrated neatly into the cliff-face.Β
A complicated junction.
Leads into a big personnel room.
Complicated moulds must have been used.
The tunnels shape and junctions are very impressive, this flight of stairs leads out the top.
Going up. The tunnels dimensions are small.
A long flight of stairs that turns 90 degrees inside, then down another to ground-level.
Heading back out we leave through the other entrance on ground-level.
